Another instrument of the Marquis de L'air model, and branded "Le Marquis" on the back below the button. This example is one of the later Mirecourt workshops copies. The one piece back is in a delicate horizontal figure, with matching tonewoods for the ribs and scroll in an attractive orange brown oil varnish. It is well set up with four new French pattern pegs, Aubert bridge and Dominant strings. new oblong case and  bow.
There are restorations to the table, properly carried out for a previous owner. A mellow, balanced voice.
