L O B 13 3/8” 340 mm.

A good German fiddle probably from Markneukirschen, and dating from around 1920. Made in good quality tonewoods- the two part back intightly flamed maple, the ribs and well cut scroll in slightly broader figure, the front in tight grained spruce, broadening towards the wings. Finished in a warm brown varnish over a yellow ground, this attractive violin is well set up with Dominant strings, French bridge and soundpost, metal tailpiece with built in adjusters, and supplied with a new case and bow. Undamaged, with minor dinks and scratches only, but still not bad for a centenarian!
